Under strict clinical supervision and when appropriate patient selection, proper dosing and injections techniques are utilised botulinum toxin is relatively safe. Most side effects are temporary and mild, may include, swelling and bruising at the site of injection.
More common side effect include headaches, drooping of eye lid, pain, redness of skin and muscle weakness.
Side effects which are not commonly experienced include, infection, anxiety, numbness, inflammation of eyelid, eye pain, visual disturbance, feeling sick, dry mouth, skin tightness, swelling (face, eyelid, around the eyes) sensitivity to light, itching, dry skin, muscle twitching, flu syndrome, lack of strength, fever.
Side effects have been reported rarely, rash, hives, itching, different types of red blotchy skin rash, serious allergic reaction which can result in swelling of lip, tongue and airways, difficulty in breathing.
Although complications related Botulinum toxin VISTABEL® are rare. These are only injected by medically trained physicians at Hannah clinic, who are trained to deal with side effects related to drug reaction. Possible side effects of filler treatment
All dermal fillers have the potential to cause complications. Although majority of adverse reactions are mild, such as bruising, swelling, redness, itching, rash which you may experience on the day of your treatment. You will be provided with patient information leaflet how to manage these side effects. Less common side effects include raised lumps under the skin, infection, movement of filler material from site of injection, allergic reaction, and bleeding and rare localised tissue damage (tissue necrosis).
